K. P. Ramachandran (KPR)

Managing Director

K. P. Ramachandran’s work life has spanned four decades now – 14 years in banking and 26 years with Genlite. He was Chief Manager of The Federal Bank, Kolkata for seven years and received recognition as ‘Best Manager’ and ‘Best in Deposit Mobilization’. He founded Genlite in 1983 as a first generation entrepreneur. That year, Genlite recorded sales of Rs. 60 lakhs. Today, Genlite has grown to achieve sales of more than Rs. 100 crores. KPR, as he is popularly known, has proven expertise in the areas of Finance, Sales Management and Administration.

K. P. Gopinathan (KPG)

Director [Works]

K. P. Gopinathan has spent 15 years in Genlite. He handles responsibilities in administration and management of production and quality, coordination with dealers, fulfillment of statutory requirements related to production and co-ordination of ISO activities. His areas of expertise include Production Management, HR, Management of Quality Systems, and Sales Management. He spearheaded the implementation of the ISO system at Genlite. Prior to joining Genlite, K. P. Gopinathan had a 17-year stint as a teacher.

Maya R.

Director & Management Representative

Maya has spent 8 years at Genlite and handles responsibilities in Administration, Finance, HR, Production, Procurement, and Quality Assurance. Maya’s key contributions at Genlite include development and implementation of a Quality Management System, spearheading the computerization of the company’s operations, and construction and set up of a genset assembly and acoustic enclosure manufacturing plant at Irungattukottai, near Chennai. Her areas of expertise include Management, Administration, Human Resource Management, Communication Skills, Counselling, and Life Skills.

Hema R.

Director

Hema brings expertise in Management, Communication, Web Development and Design. She has been with Genlite for more than 3 years and handles responsibilities in order management and fulfillment, coordination between Genlite’s dealers and factories, management of the CRM application, and reporting to the principal (Kirloskars). Prior to joining Genlite, she had successfully established and managed an NGO working for Domestic Violence (DV) victims in Chennai.

V. Ramachandran (VR)

General Manager [Kerala]

V. Ramachandran has been with Genlite from inception and has a stellar role in company’s management. He spearheaded the successful establishment of Genlite’s business as a whole and a dealer network in Kerala. Presently looks after the company’s Kerala operations (Production, marketing, administration and dealer management).

G. S. I. Layola (Sam)

Senior Manager [Marketing]

Sam has been with Genlite for 25 of the company’s 26 years. He handles responsibilities in Marketing, Dealer Management, Procurement, and Production planning. Sam’s areas of expertise include Management of Corporate Customers, with a focus on the telecom and banking industries.

V. Balasubramanian (Balu)

Marketing Manager [Institutional Sales]

Balu has spent 25 years with Genlite. Joining in Admin, Balu grew to be part of the sales team and subsequently a marketing manager. He handles institutional sales management and service management. His areas of expertise include Institutional Sales. He has also managed assembly operation for diesel gensets at Bangalore and Puducherry.

D. Shanmugham

Manager [Sales & Product support]

He has been with Genlite for 22 years. He started as a Service Engineer and has supervised thousands of Genset installations all over south India. Presently looks after Sales and Product support for Genlite. His technical expertise and product knowledge is a valuable asset to the company.

Joe Tommy

Branch Manager [Coimbatore]

Joe has been with Genlite for 15 years and heads the Coimbatore branch. He handles responsibilities in Channel Sales management, SBU management, Dealer coordination and branch administration. Joe’s areas of expertise include Administration, Marketing, and IT.

K. K. Jayakumar

Branch Manager [Madurai]

Jayakumar has been with Genlite for 15 years and handles management of the Madurai branch, Dealer Management, and Direct Marketing. His areas of expertise include Marketing through direct sales and dealer channels, Creation and Development of long term relationships with customers, Coordination across levels of the organization and an ability to motivate team members to achieve performance goals.

M. Sreedharan

Works Manager [Puducherry]

Sreedharan has been with Genlite for 25 years and handles responsibilities in Administration and Management of Production unit at Puducherry, Direct sales, and coordination of service activities. His areas of expertise include Marketing, Service, Production and Personnel Management.

P. P. Antony

Marketing Manager [Kochi Branch]

Antony has been with Genlite for more than 19 years. He joined in the company’s agency business and looked after it for 13 years from its inception before moving to the Kochi branch. Presently he handles Marketing, as well as Procurement and Production planning for the production unit in Kochi. His areas of expertise include Marketing, Administration and Planning.

S. Mahadevan

Chief Accounts Officer

Mahadevan has been with Genlite for 5 years and heads the Company’s Accounts department. His functional expertise includes finalization of accounts; excise, sales tax, service tax returns, assessments, and audits; provident fund, ESI, and Factories Act; ISO documentation and audits; and EPCG claims.
