‘GENLITE’ group has its inception in Chennai in April 1983. The present company, GENLITE ENGINEERING PRIVATE LIMITED was incorporated in Chennai on 25th January 2007 under the Companies Act, 1956 (No. 1 of 1956), and had taken over GENLITE ENGINEERING, a partnership firm registered under Indian Partnership Act, 1932. The present Directors of the company are:

Since its inception in 1983 GENLITE has been in the business of manufacturing and marketing Diesel Generating sets in the range 2.4 KVA to 1010 KVA in Single Units and up to 2000 KVA in multi parallel units. Mr. K. P. RAMACHANDRAN, Managing Director, has been in this line of business since 1983. Before starting the business in 1983, he was in service with The Federal Bank Ltd. as its Branch Manager at Kolkata. The other Directors are his wife and daughters , who are helping him in conducting the business.
Genlite is one of the Genset Original Equipment Assemblers (OEA) of Leypower Diesel Generators (7.5-250 kVA) from Ashok Leyland for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry markets and Baudouin Engine - Powered Diesel Generators (320 - 5000 kVA) Sterling Generators for entire south India including Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andra Pradesh and Puducherry. Currently, the corporate office is located in Chennai with branches at Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode and production units at Irungattukottai near Chennai in Tamil Nadu & Kureekad near Kochi in Kerala.
Genlite has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 in the year 2004 for compliance with International Quality Management Systems. Our Quality Control Manual and Operating Procedures comply with and are certified by ISO 9001-2015 latest standards regularly.
Genlite has also been evaluated on Performance and Credit rating for Small Scale Industries by NSIC-CRISIL and awarded a rating of “SE-1B” since July ’09 till 2021, which indicates ‘Highest Performance Capability and Moderate Financial Strength’.
